EPOXY & PU FLOORING · FUJI PROJECTS JOURNAL
Choosing between epoxy and PU flooring
The right industrial floor depends on traffic, chemicals, temperature and cleaning needs.

1. List the working conditions
Note vehicle traffic, impact, chemical exposure, temperature and cleaning methods. The floor system should be chosen against these conditions, not appearance alone.
2. Understand the options
Epoxy systems are widely used for strength and chemical resistance, while PU systems can offer more flexibility and heat tolerance. A specialist can advise on the best fit for your area.

3. Check the substrate first
Concrete strength, moisture and surface condition affect how well a coating bonds. Repair and preparation are part of the floor, not an extra.
4. Consider densification where it fits
Where a coating is not required, floor densification can improve surface durability and dust control. Review it alongside coated options.
5. Plan curing and access
Floors need time to cure before traffic. Agree the work areas and access arrangements so production can continue safely.
