INDUSTRIAL FIT-OUTS · FUJI PROJECTS JOURNAL
Planning an effective warehouse fit-out
Coordinate layout, civil works and services before warehouse fit-out work begins.

1. Start with material flow
Map storage, loading, equipment movement and staff access before agreeing the layout. Discuss the facility’s working pattern and the space needed for each operation.
2. Coordinate the civil package
Review floor use, foundations, levels and interfaces with the structure. The civil scope should follow the approved design and the intended facility requirements.
3. Bring services into the layout
Coordinate electrical installations, lighting, HVAC, plumbing and fire-system interfaces early. Allow access for maintenance as well as installation.
4. Plan around the operating programme
Identify shutdown windows, delivery access and activities that need separation. These constraints should inform procurement and the site sequence.
5. Define handover requirements
Agree inspections, testing responsibilities and the information required at completion. A clear close-out list helps teams prepare for operation.
